Nigeria's minister of finance and coordinating minister for Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been awarded a honorary doctorate degree by Yale University.

Okonjo-Iweala is the second Nigerian to receive an honorary doctorate from Yale. Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka who received an honorary Doctor of Letters in 1980.
