Barrister Okechukwu Eze, legal counsel to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso today told a court how the former Governor had to stay indoors because the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC threatened to arrest him.

According to VANGUARD, the lawyer made the disclosure while addressing the court on the experte motion filed to restraints the EFCC from arresting Kwankwaso.

Eze said, ''my client has been in his house over the threat of arrest by the EFCC and have been denied the liberty to perform his legislative duties as mandated by voters of Kano central District''.

''We have expressive fear that Kwankwaso’s right to liberty, freedom of movement as guaranteed under the constitution is likely to be violated by EFCC '', the lawyer said.

After hearing from the lawyer, presiding Judge, Justice Mohammed Yahaya reserved rulings till Thursday.

On Tuesday, VANGUARD reported that a petition by Kano pensioners to the EFCC may lead to Kwankwaso's arrest.
