The Infinix Zero is certainly one of the best low-budget smartphones to have graced the Nigerian mobile market late 2014. Setting your eyes on the Infix Zero for the first time, you may easily mistake it for a high-end Smartphone, and the reason for this isn’t far-fetched – superior and advanced styling.

The Infinix Zero II hasn’t disappointed in terms of design and styling, however, not much has changed especially when compared to the original. Some of the features in the new Infinix Zero II are more of like an upgrade on the existing features you’d find in the original, nevertheless, this upgrade might just make the difference that will optimize users’ experience. However, these are 5 exciting features you can’t find in the Infinix Zero:

1. Super HD AMOLED display

The display feature in a Smartphone is one of its best selling points. Currently, the two display technology making rounds in the Smartphone industry are AMOLED and IPS LCDs. AMOLED simply stands for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode; it’s a technology that combines the TFT matrix backplane with OLED to produce super-cool, crystal-clear display. The Infinix Zero featured the IPS display technology, which isn’t bad to start with. But it tends to drain battery faster than smartphones with AMOLED displays. Besides, AMOLED performs better than IPS displays when exposed to sunlight. This is a feature Nigerians appreciate a lot, taking the vast amount of sunlight we have in this part of the world into consideration. AMOLED conserves battery better than IPS, because of its faster refresh rates and response time.

2. 2.0 GHz Octa core Processor

Infinix Zero didn’t do badly in terms of performance, considering the fact that it’s a low-budget Smartphone. However, current technological demands and requirements are stretching most high-end smartphones to their limits, let alone low-budget smartphones such as the Infinix Zero. The Infinix Zero comes with a 1.4GHz Octa-core processor, which is average at best, taking into consideration what’s currently available in the Smartphone industry. With a 2.0 GHz Octa-core processor, Infinix Zero II guarantees superior performance, especially when it comes multi-tasking, and its ability to handle heavy apps and HD video games. When it comes to processors, more is most definitely better!

3. 5MP Front Camera

One of the most important features most people love about smartphones is the camera functionality. The kind of camera featured on a Smartphone, to a large extent, goes a long way in showcasing its overall quality. Agreed! The Infinix Zero comes with a front camera, but it’s largely inferior when compared to the front camera featured in the Infinix Zero II. The Infinix Zero II comes with a 5MP front camera, whereas the Infix Zero features a miserly 2MP camera. People, who love taking selfie photos and pictures in general, will find the 5mega pixel front camera on the Infinix Zero II really handy and a much better improvement on the Infinix Zero.

4. 2300 mAh Battery

The battery capacity is of most important specs people lookout for when purchasing smartphones. If you make the mistake of selecting smartphones with poor battery life and juice, be prepared to run out of power mid-way into your day. The Infix Zero II comes with a better and stronger 2300 mAh battery, whereas Infinix Zero features a 1920 mAh battery, which is good especially when compared to other smartphones within its price range, but then, it cannot outperform the battery featured in its successor. The Infinix Zero II is better when it comes to battery management, and this can largely be attributed to its AMOLED display technology as well as its superior battery capacity.

5. Kevlar

What comes to mind when you hear the word Kevlar? Bullet-proof? Body-armor? Well, you aren’t far-off. Kevlar is one of the premium materials included in the design of the Infinix Zero II, and this has taken off excess weight in the Infinix Zero II, allowing the manufacturer to shrink its size. The Infinix Zero II weighs 118g, and it’s thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The Kevlar back cover helps to shield and protect the Infinix Zero II against harmful impacts and scratches. Kevlar is an exceptionally strong, light-weight, man-made fiber used to strengthen cables and sheet materials. It is also used to produce body armor and bullet-proof vests.

The Infinix Zero II is certainly a significant improvement on the Infinix Zero. The manufacturers of the Infinix have certainly learnt a thing or two from the original, especially in areas such as display, battery and camera technology, and have made significant effort to consolidate on the gains earlier made with the introduction of the Infinix Zero. If you aren’t a fan of AMOLED displays, good processors and selfie cameras, then it’s definitely not worth the upgrade.
