The Akure Gunners are now 5 points shy of the league Leaders, Enyimba, who thrashed IfeanyiUbah FC 4-0 at the Aba international stadium in week 27 fixtures.

The manager said that he wanted all three points but gave kudos to the Owerri outfit for their determination in the game.

“We wanted all three points at stake but we were only able to pick up a point, which is not really a bad result.

“We defeated Heartland 3-0 in Owerri and they actually came out here determined to make the difference.

“I give them kudos for their fighting spirit. They deservedly earned a point in the grudge encounter,” said Boboye to supersport.com.

Boboye said they will be gunning for all three points against Shooting Stars in Ibadan to put their title campaign on track.

“We will go to Ibadan to fight for the three points at 3SC, if we fail to pick up three points we may as well kiss the title dream for this season goodbye.

“I know we have gone outside our shores to pick up points so I’m confident we will claim the three points to keep our title hopes alive,” said Boboye.

The point against Heartland takes Sunshine Stars' total earnings to 47 points. five points behind league leaders Enyimba. Supersport
