The Nigerian Army has promoted 17 Brigadier-Generals to the rank of Major-Generals.
According to THE SUN, among those promoted are J.A. Orokpo, and I. Attahiru, who were one time directors, Army public relations. Others are J.S. Malu, commander, Army Headquarters Garison, R.C. Duru, A.O. Shodunke, P.J.O. Bogie, A.M. Sabo, I.R. Nicholas, E.G.Ode, E.B.Oyefeso, O. Ejemai, E.O. Udoh, Mohammed C.T. Olukoju, I.O. Rabiu, and A.M. Dikko. Two other officers who are now deceased, namely J.T. Abubakar, and S.E.U. Ekanem, were promoted post humously.
117 Colonels were also promoted to the rank of Brigadier-Generals and 95 Lieutenant-Colonels to the rank of Colonels.
