A 16-year-old boy was on Thursday brought before an Apapa Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos, charged with the rape of a six-year-old girl.
The Prosecutor, SP Soji Ojaokomo, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 14 at Olodi, Apapa area of Lagos.
"The accused forcefully dragged the girl into his shop and had carnal knowledge of her," Ojaokomo said.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, however, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till June 9, for mention.
