Sports 2015 AFCON: Ivory Coast vs Ghana- Who Replaces Nigeria As African Champions?

Nigeria will today relinquish their title as African Champions with a new winner set to emerge in the 2015 Nations Cup competition in Equatorial Guinea.

Both Ghana's Black Stars and the Elephants of Ivory Coast will be competing for the honours of who replaces the Super Eagles as the new African champions.

Today's finals will be a repeat of the 1992 Nations Cup edition in Senegal, with these two teams clashing in the final yet again.

Ivory Coast won that competition, in fact the only time they have ever won the Nations Cup title, beating Ghana on penalties.

While Ivory Coast's drought stretches back to 23 years, Ghana's own is even worse as the last time they won the competition was 33 years ago.

So the two teams will be fired up to go for the title in Equatorial Guinea to end their long awaited time to win the Nations Cup.

Interestingly, both teams have in the last five years each gotten to the finals at one stage: Ghana in 2010, Ivory Coast in 2013, so it is not totally a new experience.

Both coaches have foreign tactitians tinkering them. While Herve Renard will be hoping to lead The Elephants to victory(incidentally first winning the title in 2012, when he led

Zambia to beat Ivory Coast) , Avram Grant will be hoping to beat him to it, being the first time he is managing an African team.

Whatever happens, a West African country will win the competition, but which of the of the neighbours will replace Nigeria, Ivory Coast or Ghana?
