Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state on Wednesday, expressed concern over the lack of interest among Igbo politicians in aspiring for the position of President of Nigeria come 2015.
Okorocha said this when he received the Enugu Zonal Director and Management team of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Enugu zone at the Government House, Owerri.
He said that Nigeria as a nation belonged to all and wondered why Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo should discourage any Igbo man from aspiring to the highest position in the country. He called on the Igbo people to brace up and support any of their own aspiring for the presidency of the nation.
The governor assured the Enugu Zonal Director of FRCN of the support of his government.
He challenged FRCN stations to pursue the goal of the corporation which centres on “uplifting the people and uniting the nation” by being objective in their reportage.
