Metro 69 Reported Killed By Gunmen in Katsina Hours Before President Jonathan is Due to Visit

An official has just reported to BBC Hausa that at least 69 people have been killed by gunmen in Katsina, Nigeria. The official added that they are still collecting the corpses.

The attacks have happened just hours before President Jonathan was due to pay an official visit to the state. A local official has informed BBC Hausa that after the attack, not a single security officer can be found in sight.

The attacks are being blamed on cattle herders. As at the time of this report, 69 people have been counted killed.
