Ahmadu Fintiri, the acting governor of Adamawa state has revoked the sales of government residential houses and lodges at Dougirei Quarters in Yola which were carried out during Murtala Nyako's tenure.

DAILY INDEPENDENT reported that Fintiri, through the Supervisory Commissioner, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Bashiru Ahmad, said the state government decided to take the action based on the illegal ways in which Nyako’s administration sold the houses on owner-occupier scheme.

A press release issued by the Adamawa state government said those houses at Dougirei are official residential buildings that supposed to house cabinet members and falls under the category of those houses not to be sold at any time.

"They are to remain as official quarters for serving commissioners who are to pay rents should they choose to reside in the quarters. This, therefore, forecloses the issue of free accommodation even for the serving commissioners",part of the press release stated.
