Politics Adamawa Election: Atiku Tipped for Leadership in an Anti-Ribadu Countermove

As controversy over who gets the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming governorship bye-election in Adamawa State rages on, former vice president and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar, is emerging the rally point for stakeholders across the two main political parties and some elders in the state.

Nigerian Tribune gathered the latest development was as a result of the alleged moves to impose the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on the PDP as its candidate for the governorship election by the duo of the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and the principal personal secretary to the president, Alhaji Hassan Tukur, who hails from the state.

It was gathered that already, the stakeholders and the concerned elders in the state had been approaching Atiku, urging him to lead the way and give a sense of belonging to the generality of the people of the state, including Muslims and Christians.

Yes Atiku is the now the leader of APC in Adamawa since the impeachment of Gov Nyako, But Atiku who we all know as a true democrat cannot be caught doing the same thing he fought against in PDP which is undemocratically or hand picking a candidate without following due process or the normal democratic way of doing things which is through primaries. which Atiku has openly said will be done openly...
So this news is nothing but PDP spin, To throw APC into crisis after setting its own house on fire by accepting Ribadu to the party and are nursing the intentions of undemocratically giving him the party's ticket ahead markus Gindiri,Fintiri,Marwa and a host of other aspirants.
APC is the people's party and will always follow the rule of law
