The members of the Adamawa state house of assembly have vowed to resist any move that will help former EFCC boss emerge the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the forthcoming bye-election in the state. DAILY TRUST has this story.

Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly have vowed to reject any plot by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and some aides of President Goodluck Jonathan to pave way for Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to emerge as the party candidate for the 0ctober 11 governorship bye-election.

Addressing a press conference in Yola, chairman house committee on information, Adamu Kamale, said the party should appreciate the role played by the house under the leadership of acting Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in reclaiming the party’s mandate after removing Murtala Nyako.

Calling on the party leadership at the national level to give Fintiri the chance to be elected to complete the remaining seven months, Kamale said Adamawa people wanted the acting governor to accomplish the laudable achievements he has so far recorded and stabilise government activities in the state. Kamale pointed out that Ribadu has not contributed anything to the party to deserve a waiver from the national leadership, saying Ribadu’s antecedents reveal a politician who wanted to destroy the PDP at all cost.
