Sports Ahmed Musa to captain Super Eagles against South Africa

CSKA Moscow forward, Ahmed Musa will lead the Super Eagles of Nigeria out of the dugout when they clash against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in an international friendly on Sunday.

This will be the first time the Russian-base striker will be leading the country following goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama's injury in the Eagles 0-1 loss to Uganda last Wednesday.

This was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation on one of their social mediums- and Musa, being the player with the highest number of caps remaining in camp, to lead the team.

The official Twitter account of the Super Eagles confirmed on Sunday morning that coach Daniel Amokachi has handed the 22-year-old the armband for the game against Bafana.

“Ahmed Musa will lead the Eagles out against @BafanaBafana in today's international friendly at the Mbombela Stadium,” it announced.

Musa, who has appeared for the Eagles 42 times scoring nine goals was part of the national team that won the third AFCON title for Nigeria, since he made his debut in 2011. goal
