Politics APC Clear 43 Councillorship Seats in FCT Election

The All Progressives Congress produced 43 councillors in the just-concluded council elections in the Federal Capital Territory, a report on the election has revealed.

In the report obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission in the territory by the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, the Peoples Democratic Party garnered 14 councillorship seats.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, according to the report, produced five councillors from the election in the area.

The APC secured nine councillorship seats each in Bwari Area Council and Kuje Area Council, eight seats in Abuja Municipal Area CounciI and six each in Abaji and Kwali councils.

It shared the 10 councillorship seats in Gwagwalada at five each with APGA.

The report indicated that PDP got four seats in each of AMAC, Kwali and Abaji, and one each in Kuje and Bwari.

In the chairmanship of the councils, the report showed that APC won in AMAC, Kuje, Kwali, Bwari and Abaji.

The APGA candidate won in Gwagwalada, according to the report of the election.

NAN recalls that the FCT council elections were conducted on April 9, with re-run polls in areas the exercise was cancelled on the first day, conducted on April 13.
