Politics APC Vice-Presidency: Why Buhari Gave Tinubu VP Slot

While a camp of governors in APC is upset over Buhari's conceding the VP slot to national leader Bola Tinubu to suggest a candidate, it must be noted that Buhari made the decision because of the marked importance of getting the large voting population of South-west Nigeria on APC's side.

Buhari's aide told Vanguard newspaper yesterday: “Politics is not winner-takes-all. Tinubu worked round the clock to deliver a huge chunk of votes to Buhari in the primary, and it is only fair that he is honoured in return."

Although Tinubu hasn't hinted at anyone being the VP candidate yet, it is known that he is opposed to Amaechi - although the latter has been a strong financial backer of the Buhari campaign.

Fashola's name hasn't been mentioned leadingly in the latest discourse. In fact, if we are to consider it, it would appear Oshiomhole has a better chance than Fashola.

But then again, I didn't expect Atiku to come third after Kwankwaso in the APC primaries. Anything can happen.
