The Sunday Punch newspaper says there are indications that the Federal Government of Nigeria may have agreed to release detained Boko Haram commanders as condition for the release of the Chibok girls.
The newspaper adds, however, that at the time of the report, no commander of the sect has been released in response to the ceasefure agreement.
An anonymous security source said that the current ceasefire agreement would proceed on the agreement that the sect's commanders would be swapped for the Chibok hostages, but the girls would be released before the commanders.
The 219 girls were abducted by the insurgents from the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State on the 14th of April, 2014.
