In an article in the Villascope magazine (the in-house State House magazine) titled "12 reasons to support Jonathan," the presidency gave Nigerians 12 reasons why they must re-elect President Jonathan fo another four-year term in March 28.

Some of the reasons it listed, according to PUNCH were: "the present administration strides in road construction, railway rehabilitation, remodeling of airports, transformed agriculture sector and increased access to education."

"Others are increased access to housing, improved power supply, improved water supply, better health facilities, reformed security infrastructures, economic transformation and increased Nigerians’ participation in downstream oil sector," says the PUNCH.

The article said when the President assumed power, Nigeria had only 4,500 km of motorable road, but he has now constructed and rehabilitated 25,000km of roads.

Also, it adds, about 5 million Nigerians now travel by the rehabilitated trains.

Education-wise, it reads: “Jonathan built 125 Almajiri schools, 14 universities and special schools for girls in 27 states.

“He gave 101 scholarships to first-class graduates to pursue postgraduate courses in the best 25 universities in the world.

“He sponsored 7,000 lecturers of federal and state universities and polytechnics for postgraduate studies to improve quality teaching.”

61,000 housing units had been built in the six geo-political zones of the country, the Presidency said.
