Metro Boko Haram Kills 17, Sets Houses Ablaze

Suspected Boko Haram operatives have been reported to have invaded the village of Sabon Gari, located at the Damboa local government area of Borno State killing no less than 17 residents, burning over 100 houses, shops, motorcycles and vehicles, including the Sabon Gari Main Market.

It was also reported that two of the attackers were killed by villagers with the help of vigilante groups, while three attackers who attempted to flee were caught and arrested.

Eye witness reports states that the insurgents attacked the village at around 11:35pm firing gunshots at residents and setting property ablaze.
