Hon. Sam Nwali, Majority Leader of the Ebonyi state House of Assembly has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen. His kidnap is coming 72 hours after the impeachment of the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
Daily Independent reported that Nwali was abducted at about 9:30am this morning along Nna Street Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital while on his way to meet with his other colleagues for a meeting. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Chris Anyanwu said that some members of the House of Assembly had reported the suspected kidnap to the Commissioner.
Vanguard reported that a source who pleaded anonymity said Nwali’s kidnap may not be unconnected with the crisis rocking the House of Assembly over the impeachment of the Former Speaker, Hon. Chukwuma Nwazunku last Monday.
