Sports Champions League results: Barcelona beaten by PSG; Chelsea defeats Sporting

Despite missing the services of their star man in attack Paris Saint Germain still had enough in them to beat Bareclona 3-2 in their UEFA Champions League game.

PSG were without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and were also missing the leadership of Thiago Silva in defence,but they didn't give in and rather stunned the Spanish clubside at the Parc Des Princes.

It was a game of two attacking teams,full of intent and purposes,the sides had a go at each other thrilling so many celebrities at the stadium who came to watch them.

David Luiz put his side in front before Lionel Messi levelled minutes later with one of his trademark goals.

One of the most little men on the pitch,Marco Verrati powered in Thiago Motta's corner-kick to give PSG the lead.

Blaise Matuidi made it three after the break which widened the gap between both teams in the match.

However Neymar pulled one goal back but it was not enough to stop Barcelona losing its first game of the season.

In another match played on Tuesday,Chelsea defeated Sporting Lisbon 1-0 in Portugal to secure their first win in the competition this season.

Nemanja Matic's headed goal was the defining moment in the match,with the Premier League side leaving with all three points.

Chelsea were a bit wasteful in the match,accounting for so many misses that could have come back to haunt them.

Nonetheless they got the job done and secured all three points on the road.

Manchester City meanwhile struggled to get past AS Roma with both teams playing out a 1-1 draw at the Etihad stadium.

Kun Aguero netted from the spot but the eye catching display of the night came from Francesco Totti who equalised for Roma.

Totti beat the offside trap as the ball was played through for the 38-year old to beat Joe Hart from.

2) Totti became the oldest player to score in the Champions League,equalising for Roma in their game against Man City at the age of 38.

3) Lionel Messi's goal against PSG was their 500th in the Champions League
