The club confirmed on Thursday that Costa has a minor muscular injury that he copped in training, and he will now be monitored by Chelsea's medical staff to ascertain the extent of the injury.
Costa was not part of Chelsea's training on Thursday, with assessing the extent of the hamstring injury.
Reports late on Wednesday evening stated that Costa will be out of action for up to six weeks but it is thought not to be that serious.
Although he is expected to be sidelined for sometime,he is not yet ruled out of the game against Everton this weekend.
Costa has made an impressive start to life at Chelsea, scoring two goals in two games against Burnley and Leicester City.
This will be the fourth hamstring injury that Costa will be having this year.
