Sports Daniel Amokachi should take over from Stephen Keshi- Fanny Amun

Former Golden Eaglets coach Fanny Amun believes that Super Eagles assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi should get the national team.

There has been a clamour for Stephen Keshi to leave the national team, and now Amun has lent his voice urging the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) to allow Amokachi manage the Super Eagles.

Amokachi, has had stints managing the homebased Eagles, and he will still be in charge when the 'B'team faces Mali and Cote d’Ivoire in upcoming games in January.

“Amokachi is a respected personality in the team as well having played diligently during his days and been around the team for a while as an assistant Coach and also noted that weeding off completely the makeup of the technical crew of the national team is not always needed”

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s a golden opportunity for him to prove himself as the leader of the team and I wish him all the best” he told footballlive.ng

Keshi is yet to be offered a new deal by the football federation, with speculations over his future following Nigeria's failure to qualify for the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament.
