Sports Diego Costa will play for Spain as long as he is fit- Del Bosque

Spain national team coach Vicente del Bosque has insisted that he will continue playing Chelsea striker, Diego Coast as long as he is fit.

The player's fitness almost became a a contentious issue between Chelsea and Spain after Jose Mourinho insisted that he cannot play three matches in one week.

However, Del Bosque has made it clear that Costa will play for Spain unless it can be proven that he is injured.

"If he’s well, he will have to play with the national team," La Roja's coach told AS. "His muscle injury is very difficult to prove.

“We were almost in the realm of the mystical. It’s not that complicated. If he’s ok, he plays, as he did in Paris. If he’s not right, he goes back to his club, as against Macedonia."

Del Bosque also confirmed that he will step down from his Spain post at the end of Euro 2016.

“I’ll stay until France 2016, unless I see a reason not to," he said.

"I don’t expect to resign before that. That is my intention, to stay until France 2016 and leave after. And the Spanish Football Federation can make a smooth transition.”
