Sports English FA fine Jose Mourinho £25,000

The English Football Association have fined Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho 25000 Pounds for improper statements over comments he made after their game against Southampton.

The 52-year old manager was charged for comments he made after side's 1-1 draw with Southampton at St Mary's on 28 December.

Mourinho, furiously claimed that there was a 'campaign' against Chelsea after Cesc Fabregas was not awarded a penalty in the game at the Saint Mary's.

"The Independent Regulatory Commission found the comments were a breach of FA Rule E3 in that they were improper and brought the game into disrepute," the statement from the FA read.

"The Commission did not, however, find that the comments implied bias on the part of a referee or referees.

"Mr Mourinho, who had requested a non-personal hearing, was also warned as to his future conduct.
