Sports EPL Results: Man City beat Palace while Man Utd could only manage a draw against Villa

Manchester United's winning streak was brought to an end after they played out a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

Coach Louis Van Gaal's team coming into the game had won six matches on the bounce and were looking to make it seven, but it was not to be as they ended up sharing the points with ten-man Villa.

United bossed the domination, dictated play, but Villa was contented with gifting them the possession.

However it was Villa who took a shock lead in the game. Fabian Delph floated in a free-kick to the big Belgian, who shook off Johnny Evans and curled in a beautiful goals for his side.

Being down, United were left to chase the game for an equaliser, however it didn't come until the second half.

Ashley Young floated in a superb cross into the box for Radamel Falcao to tower high and head in for an equaliser.

The game turned to its head when Gabriel Agbonlahor was sent off for a late challenge on Young, which earned him a red card.

However, United couldn't make their numerical advantage count as they had to settle for a draw.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, United's neighbours Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 to draw level with Chelsea on the top of the table.

Playing without out on out strikers, City still found a way past Palace and scored all goals in the second half.

David Silva bagged a brace while Yaya Toure scored a sumptuous third goal to wrap up the win for his side.

Now the onus will be on Chelsea to respond when they play Stoke City on Monday.
