Politics FG Replaces Sacked Heads of Aviation Agencies

The Federal Government of Nigeria, on Tuesday announced the sack and subsequent replacement of four heads of the country's aviation agencies in a re-organization bid.


This is contained in a statement signed by Sen. Anyim Pius Ayim, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

The statement said that Mr George Uriesi had been replaced as Managing-Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) by Mr Saleh Dumona, Director Projects (FAAN).

The statement said that Mr Ibrahim Abdulsalam, the General Manager, Procurements, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), would replace Mr Nnamdi Udoh as Managing-Director of NAMA

It said that Capt. Samuel Caulcrick, Government Safety Inspector and ICAO Focal Point for Nigeria Online Aircraft Safety Information Systems, (OASIS) would replace Capt. Chinyere Kalu as Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT).

It said that Capt. Muhktar Usman, Commissioner, Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau, (AIPB) would replace Capt. Fola Akinkuotu as Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) but subject to Senate's confirmation.

The statement said that Mr Benedict Adeyileka was appointed to act as Director-General of NCAA, pending the confirmation by the Senate while Dr Felix Abali, Director Licencing, NCAA would replace Usman as Commissioner, AIPB.

The statement said that Dr Tony Anuforo retained his position as Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMMET).
