Sports FIFA to publish report on corruption allegations

World Football governing body, FIFA finally bowed to pressure by popular demand and will now publish some parts of the contentious Michael Garcia's report that investigated allegations of World Cup bidding corruption.

Although FIFA noted that all parts of the report will not be published, they added that only a "legally appropriate version" would be made public.

FIFA initially refused to publish the report, but an outcry and the subsequent resignation from Garcia, bent the hands of the apex football body.

"We have always been determined the truth should be known," FIFA president Sepp Blatter said.

"That is, after all, why we set up an independent ethics committee with an investigatory chamber that has all necessary means to undertake investigations on its own initiative."
