A suspected Ebola patient on Saturday died after jumping off an ambulance taking him to a treatment center in Guinea's Kankan region, health sources said Saturday.
Three suspected Ebola patients from Kankan, a place about 800 km from the capital city of Conakry, were being taken by the health services Friday to the Gueckedou treatment center when the incident occurred, Xinhua reported.
The patient jumped off the ambulance travelling at a high speed and died on the spot due to a broken neck. His wife, suspected of being infected and carried in the same ambulance, however, fled into the bush.
The third suspected patient was transported to the treatment center where he is awaiting results of clinical examination.
