NIGERIA - Boko Haram terrorists have killed 32 people and kidnapped several others in its latest attack on Gumsuri village in northeast Nigeria.

According to an anonymous official, the women and children abducted could be numbering more than 100.

Mukhtar Buba, a Gumsuri resident who fled to Maiduguri, said: “after killing our youths, the insurgents have taken away our wives and daughters."

A vigilante said the insurgents have been trying to overrun Gumsuri, but they had - until now - been keeping them at bay.
“For the past one year, the insurgents have made several attempts to attack Gumsuri but were resisted by the gallant youths of the village,” he told AFP.

“It is sad that on Sunday, the village was subdued,” he added.
