Sahara Reporters reports that Boko Haram terrorists are attempting to take over the second largest city in Borno State, Bama, but have met with resistance from Nigerian troops.
The nearby civilians, including the Emir of Bama, have fled to Maiduguri to avoid being caught in the crossfire. According to eyewitnesses the terrorists arrived Bama quite early today and began firing RPGs, mortars and grenades into the city.
Bama is a formidable city with more than 500,000 inhabitants. If the Boko Haram sect captures Bama (what with its military big guns), then it's only a matter of time before it captures Maiduguri, which is less than 40 miles from Bama.
