Sports Habu Gumel now the new president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee(NOC)

Habu Gumel has been elected as the new president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) after beating the incumbent, Sani Ndanusa during Thursday's elections.

At the elections held in Asaba, Delta State, Gumel whom Ndanusa defeated in 2010, came back stronger and has been reelected back to lead the NOC for the next four years.

The Jigawa- born sports administrator narrowly defeated Ndanusa, polling together 19 votes as against Ndanusa’s 17.

Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) Ibrahim Galadima conducted the keenly contested elections.

Meanwhile, incumbent secretary general of the NOC, Tunde Popoola will retain his position after he narrowly defeated Banji Oladopo by a 17 - 16 votes margin.
