On Friday, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha; Kaduna State governor, Ramalan Yero; Taraba State acting governor, Garba Umar; Hon Ndudi Elumelu; Hon Geofrey Gaiya, Senator Abubakar Gada and Hon Ibrahim El-Sudi from Jigawa State had tear gas sprayed on them at the National secretariat of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
According to LEADERSHIP, the PDP chieftains and their supporters had stormed the secretariat to submit their nomination forms. When the crowd became too much to handle, officers of the Nigerian police force retorted to use of tear gas.
Atleast 2 persons slumped during the incident, although no death was recorded.
