Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi has reminded the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the state governor elect, Ayodele Fayose that he is still in charge. DAILY INDEPENDENT has this story.
Thirty days to the expiration of his tenure, the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Monday, said he would not stop performing his role as governor.
He stated this at the inaugural meeting of a 19-member transition committee, comprising members of his administration and those nominated by the governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose.
There had been counter-accusations between the administration and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the running of government after the June 21 Governorship election, which was won by Fayose. But Secretary to the State Government, Ganiyu Owolabi, who stood in for Fayemi, declared that the governor would continue to take actions and decisions till his last day in office.
