Olisa Metuh, National publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC of conniving with All Progressives Congress, APC to deny non-indigenes ‎in Lagos State their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

He said that the development had been reported to INEC, adding that in some states the PVCs of non-indigenes were burnt.

"This has never happened before, but we don't know why the APC is doing such; may be because we have a credible presidential candidate and a better gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state.

"We have the records and we are asking the non-indigenes involved, that if by Friday, February 6, INEC still do not give them their PVCs, we will take decisive action. We know that 90 per cent of these non-indigenes are supporters of PDP. This is part of the APC ideology to truncate democracy in this country,’’ Metuh said.

He added that though the APC members had been claiming that they were on top of the election, it was obvious that PDP was on top.

He expressed optimism that President Goodluck Jonathan would win the election, saying “it is the reason the APC has resorted to causing mayhem”.

Metuh denied that some PDP governors were trying to defect to the APC as being speculated, arguing that the party`s governors had been part of its nationwide presidential campaigns.
