Team Nigeria continued their impressive showing at the International Tennis Federation(ITF) West and Central Africa Junior Circuit by winning the gold medal in the doubles event.
The duo of Emmanuel Audu and Abubakar Tswako won the boys’ doubles gold,securing a 7-5 3-6 (10-7) straight sets victory over Gueninle Ouattara(Ivory Coast) and Chisomo Luweta(Malawi).
Another Nigerian tennis player,Elizabeth Garos-Pam was also a gold medallist, pairing with Zimbabwe's Nicole Dzienga to win the girls’ doubles event.
The pair won the game in a straight sets victory,defeating two Indians Vyas and Rutvi Shah 6-2, 6-2 to win gold.
Nigeria had in the first phase of the meet clinched five medals: three golds, two silvers and a bronze medal,announcing their dominance at the circuit in Lome,Togo.
