President Goodluck Jonathan's Senior Special Assistant on School Agriculture, Dr. Baraka Sani has no Saturday escaped death at the hands of political thugs who stopped her from voting.

Baraka had gone to Jigriya Wart in Dakatar, Kano state. She was stopped from voting by the thugs, who threw stones at her.

The thugs reportedly started chanting in Hausa: "we are not with you and will not allow you to vote.”

Two of Baraka's aides were injured during the incident and had to be rushed to hospitals.

Baraka herself was shielded and escorted from the place to a jeep which drove her away to safety.

She had to return with official security before she could vote in peace.

“Is that the kind of change Nigerians are yearning for, where Nigerians would be denied their constitutional right? Is this the kind of change that women will be summoned before the ICC?" she asked.

“Is this the kind of change that the opposition is denigrating women that they will never again participate in the political process, limiting their freedom of expression, freedom and constitutional right?”
