Sports Kelechi Iheanacho is not in a hurry to play for the Super Eagles- Father

Father of the best player of the 2013 U-17 world Cup tournament at the United Arab Emirates, James Iheanacho has said that his son, Kelechi is not in a hurry to play for the country's national team.

There has been a clamour to draft Kelechi into the mainstream Super Eagles team as the present team is lacking in creativity.

Kelechi was voted the best player and silver boot winner at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the UAE and was voted Caf’s Africa’s best young player in the same year.

However, his father has noted that the player is not in a hurry to play with the senior national team.

" For all I know he’s not in a hurry to play for the Super Eagles. If he’s invited he’ll honor the call and will make a difference” he told footballive.ng

On his club career, he further added that his son is happy with the Premier League champions, Manchester City.

“He’s enjoying his time and getting a lot of support from Manchester City,” Iheanacho added.
