The Jos residence of Sen. Joshua Dariye was a Mecca of sorts as crowds trooped there on Friday following the release of his Octogenarian father, Pa Dariye Dafweng, abducted last Saturday by kidnappers.

Majority of the early visitors were politicians, business associates and members of the Dariye family who came to rejoice with the senator.

However, efforts by NAN correspondents to speak with the senator representing Plateau Central on the plight of his father was futile as he would not comment on the issue.

''It is still a security matter; I will speak at the appropriate time when given the permission by security agencies to do so,'' he said.

The victim could also not be reached for comments as he was said to be resting after his ordeal in the hands of the kidnappers.

However, the Plateau Police Command spokesman, DSP Emmanuel Abu, told NAN that the senator’s father regained his freedom after intense pressure and intelligence mounted by the police and other security agencies.

According to Abu, the victim was found in Demquan village in Qan’Pan Local Government Area of the state.

``He was abandoned by the kidnappers and he found his way to the house of somebody he knew in the village,’’ he said.

Abu denied knowledge of the payment of any ransom, but said that four suspects had been arrested and were being interrogated.
