According to the Vanguard, Police authorities have dismissed a police Corporal Adegboro Kayode, who shot and killed a truck driver, Friday Igbinedion, at the Benin-Ore road last month.

Kayode had on the 9th of August shot the truck driver following a disagreement over his driving of an unregistered vehicle

Confirming the dismissal of Kayode, the Image Maker of the state Police Command Wole Ogodo confirmed Kayode’s dismissal, adding that the other five arrested policemen who were at the police post when the incident happened had been released.

Ogodo said it was discovered Corporal Kayade was the one who shot the deceased after a trial by the Police authorities.

He said Kayode “confessed that he carried out the shooting without the participation of others, so he has been tried and dismissed.

“He has also been charged to court for murder and he has been remanded while the trial goes on.” Ogodo added.

Those arrested but later freed for lack of proof linking them to the crime include Sergeant Audu Mamven, Sergeant Akinlotan Johnson, Corporal Mohammed Musa, Corporal Samuel Arabamen and Corporal Omole Godwin.
