Investigations are still underway over the weird death of a police inspector who engaged his wife in a fight so fierce that they both fell off the balcony - with the inspector never to stand up again.
Originally from Nasarawa State, Inspector Danjuma Daniel, was attached to the Apapa Division of the Lagos State Police Command. Last Thursday, he and his wife were involved in a scuffle that got very physical, leading to the couple falling from the balcony of their two-storey apartment at the Ijeh Police Barracks, Obalende, Lagos. Inspector Daniel's wife, identified simply as Ada, who had lived in the barracks for about 10 years, sustained grave injuries from the fall. When the couple were rushed to a nearby hospital, Daniel was said to have been confirmed dead by the medical personnel, while Ada was admitted for treatment.
Ada, a trader in a nearby market, was discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning after receiving treatment for her injuries. Emmanuel Daniel, the inspector's first son, said he was informed about his father’s death over the telephone.
