Metro Latest on Maiduguri bomb blast: Death toll rises to 100

The death toll in today's bomb explosion that rocked Maiduguri, Borno State may have risen to 100.

Earlier on there were reports that no fewer than 45 people were killed in the blast that happened at a heavily populated market in Maiduguri.

However, it has emerged that it could be worse than initially feared as a century figure is reported to have died from the twin blast, with many others injured.

Two suicide bombers(Women) were said to have carried out the act. One of them reportedly detonated herself to draw attention, and when people gathered to see what happened to the first lady, the second lady found her way into the crowd and detonated hers, killing several people.

It follows a chain of activities that have affected Maiduguri, the hub of Islamic sect, Boko Haram, believed to be behind the bomb blast.

According to TheCable, a security official confirmed that a third suicide bomber was caught before she could detonate her explosive.
