Sports Luis Suarez surprised he was not considered for the Ballon d'or award

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is surprised that he was not included in the 23-man list for the FIFA Ballon d'or award.

The Uruguayan was neglected in the list released last week, despite having an impressive season with his former club Liverpool.

Suarez ended last season, with the highest goal scorer award in the whole of Europe, but it was not enough for him to be considered.

There are reports that Suarez was not considered for the award because of the biting controversy he had at the World Cup, where he bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.

“Everyone brings it to attention, as Gerard Pique said, and what he told me is that they voted me as the best player in the most difficult league in the world, or one of the most difficult,” Suarez told Spanish radio station RAC1.

“I was also the highest goalscorer of all of the European leagues. But I prefer to keep quiet before saying things because every time that I speak there could be a problem.”
