Owing to the outbreak of the epidemic Ebola Virus Disease(EVD)organisers of the annual Milo Basketball championship,have put the tournament on hold until further notice.The Basketball championship was scheduled to have commenced today at the National Stadium,Surulere,Lagos but organisers have been forced to postpone it .
On Monday,Nigeria's Health minister,Onyebuchi Chukwu noted that there are ten new cases of Ebola in Lagos,with over a hundred people being put under surveillance.
Nestlé Nigeria Plc said in a statement that they are postponing the games:" Due to operational challenges and in the interest of public health and safety."
"A new date for the basketball championship will be communicated after a national reassessment of the level of the Ebola threat is conducted by the federal government."
