Omeruo this year joined Middlesborough in January on a six-month loan deal and impressed for the Aitor Karanka's team.
Omeruo who played a key role in Nigeria's progress to the second round of the 2014 World Cup before losing to France,renewed his contract with Chelsea in June,but competition for places means that he will have to be loaned out to get regular playing time.
"Holiday is finished. Almost time for work again. Happy to be re-joining Boro for a new season," Omeruo wrote on his Instagram page.
Omeruo will be hoping to help Middlesborough gain back promotion into the English Premier League.
