Sports Nadal crash out of Monte Carlo tournament

ASG-005283 - Copy.jpg Just a day after recording his 300th career win on the clay curt,Rafael Nadal suffered a loss to fellow Spaniard David Ferrer at the Monte Carlo masters tournament.

An impressive performance from Ferrer saw him beat Nadal 7-6(1) 6-4 in their quarter-final match up on Friday.

Ferrer twice missed an opportunity to close out the opening set,with Nadal clawing his way back to force a tiebreak which he subsequently lost.

He however capitalized in the second set,after breaking Nadal to go 3-1 and further opened a 5-2 gap. The world number one fought on and broke Ferrer to close in at 5-4,but it was too late as he hit the net and surrendered the game.

Meanwhile in the other game,Roger Federer came from a set down to win 2-6 7-6 6-1 in his quarter-final game against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
