Sports NFF ready to replace present Super Eagles team with Kelechi Iheanacho and other younger players

The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) wants to replace ageing players of the Super Eagles team with younger players.

Reports have emerged that the NFF wants the technical crew to integrate some younger players into the mainstream Eagles to add energy, youthfulness and vigor in the team.

Most of the players being considered are those who won the under 17- FIFA World Cup tournament last year in the United Arab Emirates.

The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Musa Yahaya, Chidiebere Nwakali and Chidera Ezeh are some of the players being mooted to make a breakthrough into the Eagles team.

The present Super Eagles team are believed to have an attitudinal problem, which has been evident in the way they prosecuted the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament.

The NFF equally thinks that some of the Super Eagles players are no longer fit for the national team, and should be replaced with younger and vibrant players.

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi once said that the likes of Ihenacho, is not ripe enough to play for the national team, despite the clamour to have him in the national team.

It is now left to be seen, if the NFF would impose the young players on the Super Eagles technical crew, that is if Keshi remains, or if the coach would solely decide who he calls up or not.
