Nigeria's minister of health, Dr. Haliru Alhassan, has raised an alert over the possible resurgence of the Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria.

Speaking on the occasion marking the upgrading of the Federal Medical Centre, Ido Ekiti, he said that nationwide strike embarked upon by the Joint Health Staff Union (JOHESU) worried him, as Nigeria was not free of the Ebola virus for as long as the virus was still active in any part of the world.

Asking all concerned to sustain President Jonathan's leadership in tackling the disease, he observed that the strike action by the JOHESU during a time where Nigerians will be returning home from overseas to celebrate Christmas and New year with their families could threaten the entire success achieved against Ebola thus far.
