Malam Nasir El-Rufai, Kaduna governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has stated that his party's presidential candidate will have to inherit a 'sick economy' when he is elected as President in February.
He said by that time Nigeria would be a bankrupt state as the nation is currently staggering under the weight of domestic liabilities to the tune of N106bn owed to several sources.
He stated that most of the money received/generated by Jonathan's administration has been used to settle debts, adding that about N700 bn has been wasted in 7 years.
He said that Nigeria is going through a crisis quite similar to the one it experienced in 1983.
“General Muhammadu Buhari will be inheriting a broken economy like he did in 1983, just like I am going to likely inherit a bankrupt state when we take over power,” he said.
