Metro Nigeria Needs N131bn For 2016 Census – NPC Chairman

According to Mr Eze Duruiheoma, the Chairman of the National Population Commission, Nigeria would require about 131billion naira to carry out the 2016 national census.

He said a strategy document has already outlined the procedures for the census, however, the lack of adequate resources has remained a draw-back for the commission.

He urged the #UNFPA to assist #Nigeria in mobilizing the funds and other resources needed to make the census hitch free and credible.

The Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund said that his organization was ready to help Nigeria achieve the goals of the census, however it would require Nigeria to send a strong message to the world and donor agencies to enable the organization work for it.

He, accoding to #Channels further added that it becomes imperative as population data is key to economic data and planning.
