Metro Borno: Two Suicide Bombers Attack Maiduguri An Hour After Osinbajo's Arrival

Nigeria - Two suicide bombers on Wednesday attacked Maiduguri an hour after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo's arrival at the Borno state capital.

According to Daily Trust, the two suicide bombers were killed by the explosives they strapped to their bodies before they reached their target- an hospital at Molai, a village located in the outskirt of Maiduguri.

Though the two failed suicide missions occurred several kilometers away from the areas that the vice president passed through, deafening sound of the blasts were heard across the metropolis.

The explosions occurred around 11.20am, shortly after the arrival of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who was on a surprise visit to Maiduguri.

“The two terrorists drove on bicycles and disguised as if they wanted to enter the hospital to see doctors or visit the sick. One of them wanted to gain access through the front door and the other one through the back door but were all denied," a security operatives.

“But when they were denied, the explosives in their bodies exploded and killed them,” he said.

He added that a few people were injured from the blast.
